Who we’re looking for:

We’re looking for talented, motivated stylists who take pride in their work and genuinely enjoy looking after their clients. Whether your background is in hairdressing, barbering or both, we’d love to hear from you.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • At least 2 years’ salon experience
  • NVQ Level 2 or an equivalent qualification
  • Great client care and communication skills
  • A professional, reliable and positive approach
  • Confidence working independently while also enjoying being part of a supportive team
  • A genuine passion for hair and developing your skills

Casual Part-Time Salon Assistant

We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Salon Assistant to join our team at Francesco Hair Salon on a casual, part-time basis.

This role would particularly suit a school leaver who is interested in a future career in hairdressing and may be considering progressing into an apprenticeship. It’s a great opportunity to gain hands-on salon experience, learn how a busy salon operates and find out whether a career in the industry is right for you.

Previous salon experience isn’t essential. We’re more interested in finding someone with the right attitude who is willing to learn, get involved and become part of the team. Suited to a school leaver who is looking to go into an apprenticeship in future.

Ideally, you’ll be:

  • Friendly, confident and comfortable speaking with clients
  • Reliable, punctual and well presented
  • Happy working in a busy environment
  • Proactive and willing to help wherever needed
  • Able to work well as part of a team in a busy environment
  • Have good phone and IT skills
  • Keen to learn and develop new skills
  • Flexible with availability when additional help is needed

The role will include welcoming and looking after clients, shampooing, assisting stylists, keeping the salon clean and presentable and helping with the general day-to-day running of the salon.

Hours will be offered on a casual, part-time basis depending on the needs of the salon, so some flexibility with availability would be helpful.

You’ll be joining a supportive, family-run salon with a busy client base and the opportunity to gain valuable experience as part of a nationally recognised, award-winning team.

 

Apprentice Hairdresser (Opportunity Expected October 2026)

We’re expecting to have an opportunity for a new Apprentice Hairdresser to join the Francesco team from around October 2026.

We will be on the lookout for a passionate, well-presented and motivated individual to join our team as a full-time Apprentice Hairdresser. This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career in one of the area’s best-loved and award-winning salons.

You’ll be learning from experienced professionals in a fast-paced, creative environment – gaining real, hands-on experience in all areas of hairdressing, including styling, cutting and even traditional barbering techniques. This role is ideal for a school leaver with a genuine interest in hair and a strong desire to learn the craft.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting our stylists with day-to-day tasks

  • Shampooing, conditioning and preparing clients for their appointments

  • Delivering excellent customer service

  • Helping to keep the salon clean, tidy and welcoming

  • Taking part in regular training, both in-salon and with your training provider

  • Gradually developing your own skills and confidence with models and eventually clients

What we offer:

  • Full in-salon training with ongoing support

  • Enrolment with a recognised training provider, working towards an NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing
